Vitamin D*action has achieved a major milestone: ‘Moving Research into PRACTICE’ is now a reality! States, Governments Acknowledge the Need for Vitamin D to Build the Immune System

A VERY PERSONAL ‘THANK YOU’ FROM ME TO ALL who have been involved in the GrassrootsHealth D*action project. To have state and national governments across the world acknowledge the need for vitamin D as a public health measure is a major accomplishment that wouldn’t have happened without all of you! Our biggest next step is to spread the news to the world, and recognize there is much we can do to ‘Claim the JOY of our Health’—TODAY! Your $25 donation will help us take that step.

As we saw the potential for vitamin D at the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, we started to spread the word through our newsletters and peer-reviewed publications. As of November 15, 2020, our publication Evidence that Vitamin D Supplementation Could Reduce Risk of Influenza and COVID-19 Infections and Deaths by Grant WB, Lahore H, McDonnell SL, Baggerly CA, French CB, Aliano JL, Bhattoa HP has had more citations from well-respected journals than any other paper on vitamin D and COVID-19.

Our work, however, is not done. At this point in time, GrassrootsHealth sees the need to do a MAJOR PUSH to spread the word to massive audiences all over the world so that these messages can be a key source of the recognition that there is something each person can do for their own health TODAY!

The goal is still the same as when I founded GrassrootsHealth in 2007. After I had a very frightful experience in 2005 with a diagnosis of Stage 3 breast cancer — without being able to find out options for how to protect my own body — it was clear to me that we all need a thorough, trusted source of information based on key scientific data to make informed choices, and a way to track if the choices we made where the correct ones. Based on my own background in science and education, I have always been convinced that our best tools are education and measurement tools that match an individual’s needs.

Working together with scientists, participants, and collaborators who truly care about our health and the efficacy of their work, we have made these tools of education and measurement available for vitamin D and its impact on health.

We need your help to support our outreach effort and continue spreading the news! Donating $25.00 today will positively affect millions of lives! We will take this opportunity to use our extensive network to get vital information on vitamin D to the new US COVID Panel, as well as local and state government representatives around the world.

Will you help us to continue making a difference?

Donate $25 today to help support this outreach effort (and, let us know if your employer could match the donations made by individuals from now until January 1, 2021!).

Why Support GrassrootsHealth?

Extensive science reporting from GRASSROOTSHEALTH is free to everyone. We will continue to answer YOUR questions to provide current and scientific answers. We will continue to ANALYZE your data and provide answers relevant to YOU. We will continue to create evidence-based GRAPHICS and CHARTS you can share.

Support GRASSROOTSHEALTH to address:

  • Why are there conflicting research reports about whether vitamin D helps reduce risk of cardiovascular disease, breast cancer, COVID-19?
  • How do nutrients affect my health (physical and mental)?
  • Can ‘it’ (vitamin D/other nutrients) work for me or my children?
  • How much vitamin D do I need?
  • What can I share with my health care practitioner?
  • When could it be toxic?
  • What are co-factors?
  • Can I get enough vitamin D from my diet or sunshine?
  • How do I sift through all of the information out there to help make MY health choices?

We appreciate YOU! Have a beautiful day.

What Does it Take YOU to Get Your D to 40 ng/ml (100 nmol/L)?

Did you know your health could be greatly affected by making sure you have a vitamin D level of at least 40 ng/ml (100 nmol/L)? Help us help you.

STEP 1 - Do you know what your vitamin D level is? If not, be sure to test today to find out.

STEP 2 – Determine your target level. Are you at your target level? Experts recommend a level of at least 40-60 ng/ml (100-150 nmol/L).

STEP 3 – Need to boost your level? Use the D*calculator to see how much vitamin D it may take to reach your target. Opt for the Loading Dose for a quicker boost.

STEP 4 – Optimize how your body absorbs and utilizes vitamin D with co-nutrients and these simple steps.

STEP 5 – Re-Test! This is an important step to make sure you have reached your target level, and to ensure you are not taking too much! Re-testing after 3-4 months is recommended.

STEP 6 – Adjust, Repeat…

Give your immune system the nutrients it needs to support a healthy you and protect yourself from unnecessary diseases, especially COVID-19.

The first Randomized Controlled Trial on vitamin D and COVID-19 has shown a 96% lower risk of ICU admission for those receiving vitamin D (as 25(OH)D to quickly boost vitamin D blood levels) along with the standard treatment, compared to those receiving standard treatment alone.

These results support many previous observational studies showing a relationship between vitamin D levels and intake and COVID-19 severity.

Review the Latest Nutrient Research for COVID-19

GrassrootsHealth Nutrient Research Institute has launched the new Immune Boost project with the use of our myData-myAnswers nutrient health system that nearly 15,000 people are already using for their health. Specific markers that influence immune health are suggested for testing as part of this project including:

  • Vitamin D
  • Omega-3 Index
  • Essential elements magnesium, selenium, and zinc
  • hsCRP

Our goal is to demonstrate how one can use the Nutrient Research Model established by Dr. Robert Heaney to show the effect of vitamin D serum levels of at least 40 ng/ml (100 nmol/L) on risk reduction for all ethnicities in the population. Status and intake of other nutrients will also be analyzed for any type of relationship to immune status and symptom severity. Join the project today!

Through GrassrootsHealth Nutrient Research Institute, you can also test your essential elements magnesium, copper, zinc and selenium, toxins such as lead, mercury and cadmium, as well as your omega-3 levels, inflammation levels and thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) level. Find out your levels today! Log on to the test selection page (click the link below) to get your tests and see for yourself if your levels can be improved.

Make sure you track your results before and after, about every 6 months!

How can I track my nutrient intake and levels over time?

To help you track your supplement use and nutrient levels, GrassrootsHealth has created the Personal Health Nutrient Decision System called

For each specific supplement, you can track what days you take it, how much, and many other details.  This will help you know your true supplemental intake and what patterns of use work for you to reach and maintain optimum nutrient levels. Check it out today!
