About Dr. Barbara Boucher
Barbara Joan Boucher, MD, FRCP, is an Honorary Professor of Metabolic Medicine at the Centre for Diabetes, Blizard Institute, Queen Mary University of London, with more than 50 years of research and clinical experience. She previously served as a Consultant Physician in General and Emergency Medicine at the Royal London Hospital and as a Senior Lecturer in Diabetes and Metabolic Medicine, and her research has focused primarily on hypovitaminosis D and human disease, as well as environmental risk factors such as betel chewing and metabolic health. Professor Boucher has authored over 160 peer-reviewed publications and has collaborated extensively on large international cohort studies examining vitamin D, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and cardiovascular risk across the life course.
