Have A Blessed Thanksgiving

While it has been a bitter-sweet month following the passing of our beloved and highly esteemed founder, Carole Baggerly, it has also been a time filled with an incredible amount of faith and gratitude. Over the past several weeks, many of you – our colleagues, participants, and followers – have shared your memories of Carole and how she and GrassrootsHealth have impacted your lives and your health – some quite amazing stories, and all for the better!

With each tribute we received, among a multitude of emotions, I also felt a renewed sense of gratitude, inspiration, and honor for the opportunity Carole gave me more than 13 years ago to become an integral part of the GrassrootsHealth team, and for her choosing me to carry her legacy forward when she no longer could. When I joined GrassrootsHealth, I quickly latched on to Carole’s enthusiasm and passion and looked up to her as a mentor and role-model. Carole always appreciated my “ongoing doing of the necessary tasks,” my “willingness and eagerness,” and my “commitment to the organization, to the details, to the learning that you need to do.” These are qualities that I will hold on to tightly as I continue Carole’s mission to move vitamin D research and GrassrootsHealth further into the future.

It is with my deep, warming sense of gratitude for all of you, our scientists, experts, followers, participants, and supporters, that I invite you to read the many thanks offered in honor of Carole and her legacy in the card below.

Carole was an extraordinary woman and visionary. I am incredibly honored and grateful to carry her vision for vitamin D forward into the exciting, upcoming phases of Moving Research into Practice.

Onwards! To Your Health & Happiness,
Jen Aliano, MS
Director of GrassrootsHealth

How Can You Use this Information for YOUR Health?

Having and maintaining healthy vitamin D and other nutrient levels can help improve your health now and for your future. Measuring is the only way to make sure you are getting enough!

STEP 1 Order your at-home blood spot test kit to measure vitamin D and other nutrients of concern to you, such as omega-3s, magnesium, essential and toxic elements (zinc, copper, selenium, lead, cadmium, mercury); include hsCRP as a marker of inflammation or HbA1c for blood sugar health

STEP 2 Answer the online questionnaire as part of the GrassrootsHealth study

STEP 3 Using our educational materials and tools (such as our dose calculators), assess your results to determine if you are in your desired target range or if actions should be taken to get there

STEP 4 After 3-6 months of implementing your changes, re-test to see if you have achieved your target level(s)
